Writing task 1

These figures show information about how the proportion of people who own a computer has evolved in a period of eight years, from 2002 to 2010. The first graph reveals that computer ownership has grown continually in this period, moving from almost 60 percent in 2002 to close to 80 percent by 2010. This means that computer ownership has increased around twenty percent during those years. As computer ownership has grown in general, we can see the same tendency for each education level, the information shown in the second graph. However, the intensity of the evolution has been different for all cases. For example, the percentage of people with no high school diploma and who own a computer increased almost three times in those years, passing from around 10% to above 40%. In the case of high school graduates, the proportion moved from 40% to almost 70%. People with the most advanced education levels already had high levels of computer ownership by 2002; the population with incomplete colle...

My story with the NFL: the last part

The previous days of the final match were as I expected. Few people gave the Eagles chances to win the game or even to do a great job. Philadelphia players did not appear to much time in the sports reports sections, almost always filled with the image of the Patriots' super duo: Tom Brady and Bill Bellichick. However, I also had good memories about those days, maybe the best of them were when Silvester Stallone posted a picture of the movie  Rocky IV,  where he was face to face against Ivan Drago; Drago was wearing a Patriots jersey, while Rocky had the Eagles one, and the truth was that the Superbowl game was pretty similar to that movie fight: the Patriots were seen as an unbeatable opponent, as Ivan Drago, because of how dominant had been this team for a long time, whereas the Eagles were perceived as a weak rival, with few possibilities to beat the mighty New England team; Philadelphia was not a menace to the Patriots dynasty in the opinion of many people. Even if that was...

My story with the NFL: part three

The first Eagles' games under Foles' command were more complicated than it was supposed to be. The team has some troubles to beat the NY Giants and the Oakland Raiders (both teams ended the season with a loser record), and for the last game of the season, the staff decided to play without the starter players against the Dallas Cowboys, and they won the match (0-6). Due to the incredible season of the Eagles, with fourteen victories and only three defeats, the team ended like the best team of the National Conference, securing to play the Divisional Round of the postseason. Nevertheless, the forecast was not in favour of the Philadelphia team and not many people (except the fans) gave chances to the Eagles to transcend in the postseason. The Divisional Game was against the Atlanta Falcons, and it was tough to watch because it was a game with few points but also with high doses of drama. The team has complications to reach the red zone during all match, and it was until the third ...

My story with the NFL: Part two

It was the 2017-2018 season of the NFL, and the Philadelphia Eagles were still with zero SuperBowls titles. That fact never bothered to me, and I kept supporting the team despite the recent bad years of the team and the lack of illusion of watching a transcendental season. But in my inners, I was always hoping for seeing a competitive team and able to perform good games and to fight for the biggest prize. However, most of the tournaments finished before the team could reach the final stages. The LII season was pretty different than the previous ones. The beginning performance of the team was good, with some memorable moments, as the victory over the NY Giants with a long field goal in the last seconds of the match, for instance. Nevertheless, it was not exempt from problems, as the injuries of key players, like Jason Peters, Darren Sproles, Jordan Hicks, Chris Maragos. But what was incredible for me was the fact that even after those complications, the team kept playing incredibly, and...

My story with the NFL: Part one

In the beginning, I was thinking on writing just a post to talk about this topic, but I get excited whereas I was creating this text that I decided to divide it into four parts instead of letting it as a very long text. At the end of each fragment, I will put the link for the next part. Thank you for reading. First part: Current thoughts and how I started to watch this league  I am writing this post a week before the beginning of the NFL season. Due to the current global situation, and the changes that Covid-19 has brought to the daily life of everyone, this American football season will be considerably different from the previous ones; probably the most remarkable change in this new sportive normality is that the fans will not assist to the stadiums to cheer for their favourite teams. As a Mexican NFL fan, that situation does not affect me directly, because I do not assist to the stadium every single week that my favourite team plays as the local team, however, it will not be the ...

Kaguya-hime no Monagatari: A masterpiece of the animation with a deep story

In the recent days, I watched the anime movie Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari (The Tale of Princess Kaguya) , probably one of the most famous movies in the anime world, however, I did not know about it until recently. I think it is an interesting movie not just because its story, but because of its animation (which, in my opinion, is such a beauty), which, added to the storyline, helps to create a masterpiece. Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari is a 2013 Japanese animated film produced by Studio Ghibli one of the most famous and awarded animation studios in the world. Some of its more famous works are Grave of Fireflies, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle, The Wind Rises, Whispers of the Heart , and much more. All of the movies created by Studio Ghibli are recognized because of the quality of its animation and its well-written scripts, and  The Tale of Princess Kaguya is not the exception. Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari was awarded as the best animation ...

A brief review (and opinion) of Mob Psyco 100

Some days ago, I watched the first and second season of  Mob Psycho 100 an anime that is considered a great show as a result of its animation and the story that it tells us; after I finished it, I really wanted to share my feelings and opinions about this show. Mob Psycho 100 is an anime based on the webcomic, with the same name, created by the Japanese drawer ONE, who is the author of another famous webcomic: One Punch Man . The animation of the first and second season of  Mob Psycho 100 has been in charge of Studio Bones, probably one of the most famous animation studios in Japan, thanks to all the shows that it has produced since its creation; some of its most famous titles are Full Metal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Bungo Stray Dogs and My Hero Academia. I must confess that before I watched this show, I was not sure about what should I expect about it; I mean, I had heard good comments about its animation, but I did not remember what was the story about. Basically, those recomme...
